If you thought Ray Allen was being incredibly petty on Sunday when he didn’t attend Paul Pierce’s jersey retirement ceremony along with the rest of the 2008 Celtics, you weren’t alone. Allen instead went golfing with George Lopez, and it looked like a beef that was said to be resolved was back on.
Ray Allen dropped a tribute on Instagram to honor Paul Pierce
Better late than never, right?

Apparently, however, we were all wrong. Allen didn’t pay homage to Pierce on Sunday, but he bounced back on Tuesday with an Instagram post dedicated to Pierce. He even addressed the thought that there was still beef between the two.
Despite what you may have heard or read or what is rumored- there is nothing but love. Paul and I are more interested in building bridges than putting up walls. To Paul, number 34, Congratulations on having your number raised up to the rafters. I salute you for your commitment to the city of Boston and to us the 2008 NBA Champions
Now, sure, this post is hilariously late. But it’s the thought that counts, right? Better late than never, right? Plus, it seems that any walls that were built between the two sides have been broken down and everyone is somewhat cool again.
That’s great to see for a great championship team. Maybe we’ll get that reunion someday after all.
