Buzz Williams told Hokies fans to ‘quit cussing’ in the middle of the Duke-VT game
“Don’t throw anything on the floor regardless of what’s happening.”

Buzz Williams doesn’t ask for much. He just wants you to stop cussing and to keep the Hokies court free of debris.
As the second half was coming to a close in Virginia Tech-Duke, a foul call on Grayson Allen got the Hokies fans heated. They were so displeased with the call that they started chanting bullshit over and over.
Some coaches will just ignore the crowd reaction and focus on the game, but Buzz Williams actually stopped for a secnd and requested a microphone. He grabbed the mic and after figuring out how to turn the thing on, he focused his attention on the fans.
He said, “Guys, quit cussing. Quit cussing. Don’t throw anything on the floor regardless of what’s happening.”
It did the trick! Based on the reaction, the crowd was both amazed and impressed the coach Williams went so far as to directly tell them that. Then they chilled out for a bit. Just don’t expect him to do it every single time Hokies fans start throwing expletives like that.
The Hokies beat No. 5 Duke 64-63.
