This Zach LaVine poster dunk proves his ACL is just fine

Lord forgive Jakarr Sampson, for he knows not what he did.

Zach LaVine tore his ACL last season with the Timberwolves before he was traded to the Bulls, and many were concerned whether he’d be able to keep the very athleticism that made him one of the promising young guards in the league. Well, LaVine has been back for quite some time now, and if he hadn’t eased those concerns in his first few games, he certainly put them to rest on Monday night.

The Bulls guard dribbled baseline and absolutely obliterated Jakarr Sampson during Chicago’s matchup against the Sacramento Kings. You don’t jump against a man with a damn near 50-inch vertical leap. This is exactly why.

LaVine’s ACL seems fine, and the rest of his game is fine right along with it. He’s averaging 14.5 points per game on 37.5 percent shooting from three. His field goal percentages are sub-.400, but there’s no reason to believe those numbers won’t increase as he continues to get settled in Chicago.

The Bulls have been playing pretty well lately, and LaVine is only going to get better as the season goes on. Chicago’s nowhere near the playoffs, but this could be one bright spot in an otherwise dull season.
