This season of college basketball has been fun, especially for Ball State.

In the MAC West, the Toledo Rockets held a two-game lead over the Cardinals heading into Tuesday night. The Cardinals, who have had a thrill for the dramatic this season, needed another game-winning bucket from redshirt junior guard Tayler Persons to grab a 59-56 victory over Western Michigan.

Persons hit the game-winning three-pointer from NBA range, leaving only 0.9 seconds left in the game.

This is not the first time Persons has broken the hearts of his opponents this season. Back in December, he hit back-to-back game-winning three-pointers over then-No. 9 Notre Dame and Valparaiso.

The Cardinals will need more of this late-game magic from Persons, especially if they want to win the MAC.
