Kyrie Irving is an incredible ball handler and can’t be guarded by most guards. So when you get a big man switched onto him? Good luck.
Kyrie Irving hit 6 straight free throws after Markieff Morris fouled him on two 3-point attempts
The Wizards lost the game in this stretch.

Markieff Morris was unlucky enough to get the switch, and Irving made him pay twice. He fouled Irving on two three-point attempts in the waning moments of the game against the Celtics.
First, on what would’ve been the Celtics’ final possession of the game, Morris fouled Irving on a three-point attempt in the corner after he switched onto him from a screen.
You’ve got to look closely to see, but Morris does tap Irving on the forearm before the ball goes up. It’s a call we rarely see, but it’s probably the right one. This was a crucial call because it forced overtime after Irving hit all three free throws.
Minutes later in overtime, Morris did the same thing and fouled out of the game.
All in all, this was a bad stretch for Morris and was essentially the stretch that lost the Wizards the game. He played a solid game with nine points, five rebounds, and five assists, but these two fouls in crucial moments ended up costing the Wizards a win.
