There were apparently enough Atlanta Hawks fans in the building on Friday to chant, “LEBRON WILL LEAVE YOU,” at Tristan Thompson while he shot free throws in the first quarter against the home team.
Hawks fans chant ‘LeBron will leave you’ at Cavaliers players
This is savage, but do Atlanta fans really have any room to talk?

Here are the chants, which aren’t acknowledged by the Hawks broadcast but are clearly audible behind their play-by-play chatter, referring to LeBron James’ upcoming 2018 free agency.
Atlanta has the worst attendance in the league, averaging just 13,876 fans per contest, almost 2,000 fans fewer than the second-worst team’s average. That’s not too surprising when you consider the Hawks are tied for the worst record in the league with just 17 wins to 38 losses. But a Friday night matchup against LeBron James and the Cavaliers apparently brought a decent crowd, as you can see here.
The Cavaliers only have 10 active players on Friday, including both their players under two-way contracts, due to a flurry of trade deadline activity that sent out six players while bringing in four. The total roster revamping was necessary, and it makes it seem more likely James could possibly return to Cleveland. That said, the Hawks fans are right — there have been plenty of rumors that he could be gone.
He sure ain’t going to Atlanta, though.
