Reserve wing Shabazz Muhammad and the Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to a contract buyout, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. When Muhammad clears waivers over the weekend, The Vertical’s Shams Charania reports he will commit to joining the Milwaukee Bucks.
Shabazz Muhammad reportedly plans to sign with the Bucks
Muhammad agreed to a buyout with the Timberwolves and could be headed to Milwaukee.

Muhammad had fallen completely out of Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau’s rotation. He only appeared in 32 games this season, averaging nine minutes per game on poor shooting percentages. Even after Jimmy Butler’s torn meniscus, Muhammad has barely touched the court. He only played in one of Minnesota’s eight February games.
“I’m very happy, and can’t wait to get my opportunity,” Muhammad told The Undefeated’s Marc Spears.
The 25-year-old wing had requested a trade ahead of the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline, but Minnesota never found an offer it found suitable. Earlier in his career, Muhammad was viewed as a dynamic guard/forward capable of scoring as both a perimeter shooter and slasher. In the 2014-15 season, he averaged 13.5 points on 49 percent shooting from the field and 39 percent shooting from three.
