The Connecticut Huskies begin their trek for yet another championship in the 2018 NCAA women’s basketball tournament, starting on Saturday morning against St. Francis.

The Huskies are 32-0 this season and while UConn victories might seem inevitable, Mississippi State showed us last season in the Final Four that anything can happen. That said, what UConn has accomplished in over three decades under head coach Geno Auriemma has been truly incredible. Let’s take a look at the most notable facts and figures:

190 out of 192

Here’s how good things have gone for UConn women over the last year years: the current 32-game winning streak is the shortest winning streak by the Huskies over the last six full seasons! After winning the final six games of the 2012-13 season to win the championship UConn won their didn’t lose again until 2015, then not again until Mississippi State last year. They have won 190 of their last 192 games, which needs to be expressed in graphic form.

Going streaking

UConn has been so good that their current 32-game streak is only the seventh-longest in school history. The Huskies own six of the longest 12 streaks in women’s college basketball history:

111 games, 2014-17 (1st all-time)
90 games, 2008-11 (2nd)
70 games, 2001-03 (3rd)
47 games, 2013-15 (5th)
35 games, 1994-96 (11th)
33 games, 1996-97 (12th)

Undefeated seasons

UConn still has potentially six games to go before claiming another championship, which would be a record 12th title. Should they go the distance the Huskies would finish 38-0 and give them a whopping seven undefeated seasons, joining 1995, 2002, 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2016.

Since the women’s NCAA tournament began in 1982, all other schools combined have three undefeated seasons.

All those Final Fours

The last time UConn didn’t reach the Final Four was 2007, which marked the end of what relatively looks like a massive slump for the program, only reaching two Elite 8s and a Sweet 16 from 2005-07. Auriemma’s record during those three seasons was 89-17 (.840), which would be excellent under almost any standards. Just not UConn’s.

Since those 17 losses from 2005-07, UConn has lost a total of 15 games. They have won 402, including 10 trips in a row to the Final Four and 15 trips in the last 18 years.

UConn’s 18 Final Fours in school history have them tied with Tennessee for the most all-time in women’s college basketball, so the Huskies could break yet another record this season.

The Huskies’ 11 championships are already the most in history, including titles in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 in this current streak of Final Fours.

Early round dominance

UConn has reached at least the Sweet 16 in 24 consecutive tournaments, which coincides with when the women’s tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1994. The Huskies have been a No. 1 seed 21 times in 25 years, including their top seed this season.

In their last 24 first-round games, UConn’s average game score is 94-47. The closest win was 19 points, a 79-60 victory over Brown in 1994.

Bouncing back

This won’t be threatened in the NCAA Tournament because of single elimination, but perhaps the best way to describe UConn’s quarter century of dominance is this nugget:

The Huskies have not lost back-to-back games since falling to Providence and Louisville in March 1993. THAT’S 25 YEARS WITHOUT LOSING TWICE IN A ROW.

It is 918 games without back-to-back defeats for UConn, but perhaps even more remarkable isn’t that they are 58-0 following a loss. It’s that there have only been 58 losses from which they’ve had to bounce back.
