Hello, it is March and the Big Ten women’s tournament would like to get in on the action. On Thursday night, No. 7 seed IU and No. 10 seed Michigan faced off in an apparent effort to deliver us the best game of March Madness on March 1, by going to four stinking overtimes.

There were 60 minutes of game time, 16 lead changes and 16 ties before IU pulled away to a 111-109 win after Amanda Cahill’s two free throws with 3.9 seconds remaining.

- First game in the men’s or women’s Big Ten tourney to go to four overtimes
- 111 points is the most scored in a single game
- 220 combined points is the most in a women’s Big Ten tourney game
- Amanda Cahill scored 38 points, the most by an IU player in the Big Ten tournament

End of Regulation: 74-74
Michigan State tied the game at 74 with 0:42 remaining and IU was unable to hit a shot at the buzzer.
End of first OT: 80-80
Michigan State hit a shot at the buzzer to win in the first overtime but the clock froze with 2.5 seconds to go, which ultimately made the shot not count.
End of second OT: 91-91
IU’s Cahill hits a baseline layup with time expiring to tie the game at 91.
End of third OT: 99-99
Michigan State and IU trade baskets in the final 30 seconds to send this to another overtime.
End Fourth OT: IU WINS, 111-109!
IU’s Amanda Cahill hit two free throws with 3.6 seconds left to seal the win.
