Anthony Davis has returned in the Pelicans’ matchup against the Clippers after suffering a rib contusion in the second quarter.
Anthony Davis exits vs. Clippers with rib injury
Davis is attempting to return from what has been reportedly diagnosed as a rib contusion.

Davis bumped his hip area with DeAndre Jordan while rolling off of a screen and immediately held his side in pain. He never got back on defense, and Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry called a timeout when Davis never rejoined the team on offense.
Davis then left for the locker room, where he appeared to be in considerable pain while walking through the corridors.
The Pelicans have already had one devastating injury when DeMarcus Cousins’ season was cut short with a torn Achilles. New Orleans struggled in the immediate aftermath of Boogie’s injury, but they have since hit a stride and rattled off eight straight wins.
Davis has been at the center of the Pelicans’ winning streak with four 40-plus point games, including a 53-point outburst against Phoenix. Only Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Moses Malone averaged the same numbers as Davis during a winning streak of seven games or longer.
