Notre Dame is the 2018 NCAA Champion after a Arike Ogunbowale buzzer beater for the second straight game. With the game tied at 58 with three seconds to go, Notre Dame inbounded the ball to Ogunbowale who nailed a three-pointer falling away from the basket to give the Irish their first title in 17 years.

Arike Ogunbowale did it again!


Mississippi State was up five with less than 30 seconds to go but could not hold on after Teaira McCowan used her last foul to save Notre Dame from an easy layup. It didn’t matter in the end though after the Ogunbowale wild game winner.
The game was tied heading into the fourth quarter after a furious comeback by Notre Dame in the the third. At the start of the 2nd half, Mississippi State extended their lead to 15, only for Notre Dame to eventually go on a 16-1 run, taking the lead shorty before the end of the third. Notre Dame was only held to three points in the entire second quarter but erased that all by games end.
The 15-point deficit for Notre Dame is the largest comeback ever in a national championship game. They also erased an 11-point lead from UConn to advance to the title game two days earlier.
Arike Ogunbowale was named the tournaments Most Outsanding Player, which is quite hard to deny after her back to back game winners in the Final Four.
