Muffet McGraw has led the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to another NCAA National Championship, 17-years to the day since her last in 2001. It’s not only been a wild Final Four for McGraw and her team, but an entire season as well. The Irish suffered four ACL tears this years to players in their rotation, but that only fueled them to this moment.
Muffet McGraw’s reaction to Notre Dame’s win was absolutely perfect
Legendary reaction to a legendary shot!

If a game-winner to beat powerhouse UConn in the National Semifinal wasn’t enough, Notre Dame, got a buzzer-beater to win the entire thing. The reaction from the legendary coach and her staff was perfect.
I’ve watched this at least 100 times. Everyone in the frame is unbelievably excited but also appears to be in a bit of shock and unsure of what to do. McGraw actually gets left alone as everyone passes her to get to the court before an assistant coach grabs her. It’s just the perfect mix of emotion from such an incredible moment. I’m so happy for everyone involved.
It’s also fun to relive this shot in slow motion.
Let’s not forget McGraw’s scarf
Of everything that happened on Sunday night, I think that her bright green scarf during the biggest game of the year is my favorite. Just look at that thing. The school pride. The confidence. The swagger. Muffet McGraw forever.
