Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Game 6 against the Celtics looked like a video game

Antetokounmpo had his best game of the playoffs when the Bucks needed him most.

The Bucks forced the first Game 7 of this year’s playoffs with a 97-86 win over the Celtics on Thursday, and Giannis Antetokounmpo had his best game of the season to get there. The Greek Freak finished with 33 points on 13-of-23 (56 percent) shooting from the field to go with 14 rebounds, four assists and two steals. His performance against Boston to avoid elimination looked like something you’d see in NBA 2K18.

After all, Antetokounmpo sent Semi Ojeleye tumbling to the ground with a vicious euro-step that virtually started at the three-point line.

And he also left Aron Baynes in the dust with a nasty step-back that even the stickiest defender would have struggled to catch.

Antetokounmpo’s highlights never ended. He picked Al Horford’s pockets near halfcourt before finishing with a tomahawk stuff. Then he soared into the air to catch a two-handed alley-oop from Eric Bledsoe.

This was exactly the type of game Antetokounmpo needed to have. Each team has defended home court successfully in this series, and after his highlight-reel night on Thursday, Milwaukee has forced a winner takes all Game 7. That game will be in Boston, and the Bucks have yet to win a game there. If they’re going to turn the tables on the Celtics, Antetokounmpo will have to be even better than he was in Game 6.
