Ronda Rousey makes her WWE ring debut, teaming up with Kurt Angle in a mixed tag team match against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H.
The two major men’s titles are also up for grabs. On the Raw side, Brock Lesnar will battle Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, all amid rumors that Lesnar is headed back to the UFC. Smackdown’s top title, the WWE Championship, will be contended between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. The latter features two of the best in-ring wrestlers competing against each other in WWE for the first time.
WWE’s female competitors will also defend their respective titles. Charlotte Flair will have to beat the undefeated Asuka in order to do so. Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss takes on her former friend Nia Jax. WWE is also establishing a WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal to showcase the other competitors not in a singles match, which will be part of the event’s preshow.
Fans are eager to see the in-ring return of Daniel Bryan, who was recently cleared to wrestle after announcing his retirement over two years ago due to concussion-related injuries. His return will make fans cry, either through joy or concern. He teams with Shane McMahon to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
Even with the announced card, there’s still room for surprises in this year’s Mania. The biggest of which is John Cena’s immediate future. He challenged the legendary Undertaker to a match, only to have been ignored up to this point though pro wrestling dictates that some sort of altercation will happen on Sunday. Braun Strowman is also without a partner for his Raw tag team championship bout. Expect an unlikely adversary for the monster among men.
