Chris Paul broke Steph Curry’s ankles as payback for that 2015 ankle breaker

Sheeeeeesh.

Chris Paul has been one of the best point guards in the NBA for quite some time, but Stephen Curry’s emergence has sent him sliding down the floor general rankings in recent years. Curry has had Paul’s number since the Warriors became championship contenders in 2014.

On Wednesday night, Paul finally exacted his revenge.

Paul drove on Curry late in the second quarter of Game 2, then sent the two-time MVP sliding to the ground with a vicious behind-the-back move. He then found P.J. Tucker on a baseline cut to complete the highlight.

The ankle-breaking crossover was a form of payback to Curry, who dropped Paul years ago with a similar behind-the-back move. This one was much nastier: a double behind-the-back baseline crossover that left Paul grasping at the air.

It’s been a long time coming, and Paul and Curry will have more opportunities to drop each other in the future. But for now, let’s just appreciate this point guard rivalry. Looks like it’s Curry’s turn.
