Screaming “this is my f—-ing house!” riled up Warriors fans, including Mrs. Curry.

Steph Curry had his finest performance of the 2018 NBA Playoffs to date Sunday night, dropping 35 points on the Rockets in a Game 3 blowout. It was an emotional crescendo for the former MVP, who at one point in the third quarter and with his team building an insurmountable lead, drained a runner in the paint, then pulled out his mouthpiece and screamed to the fans at Oracle Arena “this is my f---ing house!”

That riled up the Bay Area crowd, but there was at least one Warriors fan who wasn’t on board — Curry’s mother.

“She already sent me two home videos, showing me the clip and playing it back,” Curry told ESPN after the game. “She was telling me how I need to wash my mouth out, saying to wash it out with soap. It’s a message I’ve heard before.

“She’s right. I gotta do better. I can’t talk like that.”

Curry can’t be blamed for getting caught up in the moment. An ankle injury kept him from being his typical game-changing self earlier in the postseason. He missed the entirety of his team’s five-game first-round win over the Spurs, While he’d averaged 22 points per game since returning in the Western Conference semifinals, he’d made just one of his 20 three-point attempts in 10 quarters of play against Houston.

That slump ended in the third quarter Sunday evening. Curry exploded for his biggest performance since February 22 in a statement game. The Rockets came to Oakland needing an upset win to regain home court advantage in the conference finals. Curry’s monster performance — he had 26 points after halftime and missed just three shots — was a testament to the strength that threatens to make the Warriors a dynasty.

Or, in simpler terms, the performance was proof Oracle Arena is Curry’s “f---ing house”, even if his mother may not approve of the language.
