A puppy ‘tweeted’ the Phillies’ Friday night game and it was freaking adorable

Someone adopt this adorable dog already.

Social media bits from professional teams can go one of two ways: it’s either the worst thing that has ever happened and the team gets roasted by the entire internet, or it goes over mostly well and they get a bunch of new followers.

There’s really not an unequivocal win for social media bits because they’ll always seem less than fully genuine. The Phillies found a way around this by having a puppy “tweet” their Friday night game against the Blue Jays. No one’s going to roast a puppy and it’s for a good cause, so it’s about as genuine as you can get.

The puppy is named Penny, and she’s tweeting to promote dog adoption.

Despite claiming otherwise, Penny did indeed get distracted by baseballs.

The voice was honestly cute, if you’re susceptible to that sort of thing. Suspending your imagination so you believe a dog is watching this baseball game is fun, I highly recommend it. Especially on a three day weekend. What else are you doing besides shutting your brain off and having a good time watching the game?

Even Villanova coach Jay Wright got in on the dog love.

Good baseball dogs.
