Andre Iguodala will not play in Game 2 of the NBA Finals
Iguodala missed Games 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the Western Conference Finals with a left knee contusion that is still giving him problems.

After missing Game 1, versatile Warriors forward Andre Iguodala will not play in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday as he continues to rehab the very left knee injury that sidelined him for Games 4 through 7 of the Western Conference Finals against the Rockets. The injury also Golden State has officially labeled his injury a left lateral leg contusion, according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes.
Iguodala suffered the injury with under eight minutes to go in the fourth quarter of Game 3 against the Rockets while defending James Harden on a dribble-drive to the rim. Harden and Iguodala bumped knees, and while the presumptive league MVP gingerly rose to his feet, Iggy hopped on one foot in visible pain.
The Warriors held a 2-1 series lead after Game 3, but without Iguodala, they dropped Games 4 and 5 and were forced to claw back from a 3-2 series deficit. Iguodala won 2015 NBA Finals MVP in Golden State’s seven-game series against Cleveland. It is unclear how long the knee injury will keep him out.
”He’s frustrated,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said, according to Haynes. “His body has not responded at this point.”
The injury complicates things for Golden State, as Iguodala has been their best defender on LeBron James in each of the past three Finals. But the Warriors snuck away with a 124-114 OT win in Game 1. They will continue to start Kevon Looney in Iguodala’s place, but without him, the Warriors will have to rely heavily on Kevin Durant to defend the best player in the world. Golden State’s backup wings are Patrick McCaw and Nick Young.
