Basketball fans in the Bay Area have seen the Cavaliers and the Warriors battle in the NBA Finals before in each of the last three seasons. Maybe that’s why Thursday’s Game 1 showdown between Cleveland and Golden State isn’t a sellout despite being the biggest game of the 2017-18 NBA season to date.

It’s cheaper than ever to watch the Cavaliers and Warriors battle for the NBA title.
As of 4:30 p.m. ET — 4.5 hours before tipoff — several tickets remained on the Warriors’ official website. While the majority were previously-bought seats up for resale, a fair number of upper level tickets still remained. Most started at the not-so-low price of $425+ fees.
It won’t necessarily cost you $425 to find a seat at Oracle Arena, though. Resale prices early in the afternoon pegged upper-level standing room only seats at $250 each. A row 14 spot in section 209, behind the south basket, would only cost you $29 more.
According to TicketIQ, that’s the lowest price ever offered for a Cavs-Warriors Finals matchup.

That could be a sign of fatigue as Cavs-Warriors enters its fourth edition. If these NBA Finals were Rocky movies, this one would have taken place in Russia after Kevin Love died in the ring due to LeBron James’ decision not to throw in the towel. Much like Balboa was against Drago, Cleveland is a historic underdog against Golden State. That hasn’t helped stoke interest in a series Warriors fans have seen thrice before.
