JaVale McGee has redefined himself as a member of the Golden State Warriors. But sometimes, you can’t escape the ghosts of your past, and one came back to haunt McGee in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.
JaVale McGee missed a wide open dunk in the NBA Finals
Unbelievable.

Stephen Curry found McGee wide open under the basket — I’m talking no defender within seconds of closing out — in the third quarter against the Cavaliers. McGee took a dribble and went up. No one knows exactly what happened after he left his feet.
Here’s another look, this time in slow motion.
Maybe he was under the basket and didn’t realize what angle he had to go up with to dunk the ball? Or maybe he just bobbled the ball, like Jordan Clarkson in pregame warmups?
All we know is Steve Kerr pulled him from the game immediately after that fumble of a play. Better luck next time, JaVale!
After the game, McGee was all smiles, and even he had to laugh at this play.
