Donovan Mitchell leaves Game 5 with left foot soreness

His x-ray came up negative.

Donovan Mitchell went down with a contact left leg injury in the fourth quarter of Game 5 of the Jazz and Rockets second-round playoff series and had to be helped off the floor. Mitchell knocked knees with James Harden as he attempted to drive past him, and never made it down the other side of the court after he got picked.

Mitchell never returned to the game, but his x-ray came up negative, and the team is calling his injury “left foot soreness,” according to the Salt Lake Tribune’s Tony Jones.

Mitchell did put weight on the injured leg, and though he had the help of two people supporting him, he was walking.

We will update this story as soon as more details come out.
