Kevin Durant and Kendrick Perkins traded some profane press conference pleasantries

After Wednesday night’s Game 3 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kevin Durant addressed the media in a postgame press conference to talk about the NBA Finals, his teammates, and the dagger three he used to bury the Cavs late in the game. He also called Cleveland center Kendrick Perkins “bitch ass” under his breath.

It was a fitting response to an old friend sliding into the back of the room with both his middle fingers up. Perkins took time out of his busy Wednesday schedule — zero minutes played — to troll the player with whom he spent parts of four seasons in Oklahoma City. Durant saw the unmistakable 6’10, 270-pound figure lumber into the room and fired off a quiet “F*** you, bitch ass” before the media could ask him one final question for the night.

On his way out of the arena, Kendrick Perkins stopped in the hallway and stuck his head in the interview room to see who was at the podium. What he saw it was Kevin Durant, Perk saluted him with two middle fingers raised high over his massive frame. Without saying a word, he turned away and continued heading for the exit.

You can’t see Perkins in the NBA’s official video of the press conference, but you can see Durant’s silent response pretty clearly (at 7:52):

It makes sense Perkins would be ready to troll his former teammate after Wednesday’s loss. Durant roasted the Cavaliers to the tune of 43 points (on just 23 shots), 13 rebounds, and seven assists. But not even a pair of middle fingers extended from Perkins’ canned ham-sized fists could throw the 2014 NBA MVP off his game. Durant didn’t miss a beat before segueing into his final answer of the evening.
