When San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan walked into the Drew League gym with the latest pair of Nike Kobe A.D.s in early August, sneaker heads everywhere started buzzing about this year’s upcoming signature shoe.
Nike’s new Kobe A.D. signature shoe has dropped
Nike celebrates Kobe Day with the release of its latest Kobe Bryant signature shoe.


It wasn’t just fans. Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma tweeted about his excitement, too.
Well, good news has arrived on Kobe Day.

The details
The latest Kobe A.D. features a full-length mesh bootie with a unique lacing system and a Zoom Air Unit that’s designed to fuel explosiveness. The new shoe also features an engineered micro-blade outsole pattern that enhances traction.
The shoe’s left tongue pays homage to the three numbers (33, 8 and 24) that Bryant wore during his high school and NBA career. The right tongue contains the numbers from Kobe’s birth date - 8/23/78.
More colorways have surfaced
If you’re not feeling the new multicolor design, different colorways will be available soon, including one with a purple tone and another that has a black/grey color scheme.
Release date details aren’t available just yet, but here’s a sneak peek at the purple-centric shoe.
