Any football fan who’s grown up in Southern California will tell you that the college football rivalry here is bigger than the pros. It’s the proximity between the two hometown schools that has escalated the tension to an ultimate high. With just 12 unlucky miles between stadiums, there’s only room for one winner.
Even nearly two decades later, Maurice Jones-Drew (UCLA 2003–2005) and Shaun Cody (USC 2001–2004) still want bragging rights to Los Angeles’s best college team. And so in the spirit of the side-by-side vehicle, Honda Talon brought these two athletes back to the field to discuss how their relationship has evolved over time, from college to pro leagues.
Did all that time spent side-by-side ultimately turn this rivalry to friendship? Or do these two opponents still stand on opposite ends of the football field? Watch to find out.
