The Celtics and Bucks are locked into their playoff seeds

A couple Saturday night results further solidified the Eastern playoff picture.

USA TODAY Sports

The Eastern Conference playoff seedings have been a tight race all along, but the results of some Saturday night games brought the matchups ever closer to being crystallized. The seventh-seeded Boston Celtics blew out the woeful Orlando Magic while the eighth-seeded Milwaukee Bucks got blown out by the woeful Charlotte Bobcats. The combination of win and loss locked Boston into that seventh seed while the Bucks are now set to face the Miami Heat (who clinched the top seed, like, years ago) and maybe score a few points in the first round.

Boston's opponent isn't quite set, but it's almost there. New York currently sits in the second seed and will clinch it with a single win or Indiana loss. That eventuality could arrive as soon as Sunday afternoon, when the Knicks and Pacers happen to face each other, but even if not, the Celtics should probably start preparing for another first-round battle with the Knicks.

Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, the Charlotte win and Orlando loss mean those two clubs are still both in contention for the worst record in the NBA and the greatest portion of ping-pong balls on lottery night. Charlotte sits at 19-61 while Orlando fell to 20-60 in defeat. Excitement every which way!
