During the third inning of Thursday's Angels-Athletics game, Los Angeles relief pitcher Dane De La Rosa noticed a struggling pigeon near the dugout, so he scooped it up and carried it away to safety:

He’s a real Angel.

De La Rosa took his new friend (which he named Randy, though I suspect he didn’t take the steps necessary to accurately sex the bird. I guess Randy could be a girl’s name, too.) outside and released it back into the “wild”, where it hopefully didn’t become an easy snack for some larger animal.
No matter what, it’s a kind move by De La Rosa. As Big League Stew pointed out, he went on to pitch a 1-2-3 eighth inning to secure the Angels win. Good karma!
