There are “Royals fans” and then there are “named our baby Kauffman” Royals fans:

1. “Man, remember that month-and-a-half long drought during which the Royals didn’t make the World Series? That was miserable.” - Baby Kauffman, lifelong Royals fan.

2. If K-Dog (he said I could call him that) is 2 months old, then he was named well before anyone had any inkling that the Royals would have such a great run. These weren’t opportunistic namers.
