Brandon Jennings passes up wide-open layup to brick jumper

... but I’m not even certain it is. I think it’s just a really dumb play. It’s tough to tell, because I’ve never before seen someone catch a perfect feed off a perfect backdoor cut, only to pass up an easy lay-in for a bad turn-around a hop and a skip away. He may have lost control of the ball, but he still didn’t have to give up position under the basket, especially with a chance to draw contact from Tyson Chandler. Strange.
Brandon Jennings is a pioneer. His explanation:
I didn't think I was open. Thought Monta was behind me. O! My bad! It happens
