Watch a Guam basketball player run under an opponent’s legs

Wednesday, the Australian men's U19 basketball team beat Guam, 103-40 (which isn't nearly as bad as the score in the women's draw), but Guam's Vernave Calinagan Gustilo made the play of the day by far:

Watch the defender closing out on the shooter. Instead of fighting over the screen, he dips UNDER an Australian’s player’s legs to contest the shot. That is extremely good strategy, and I would like to see Nate Robinson attempt this immediately.

This, by the way, is from the FIBA Oceania U19 Championships in Fiji. The Australia and New Zealand teams are absolutely dominating. All of their wins in both the men' and women's draws -- against much smaller opponents like the Solomon Island and New Caledonia -- have been blowouts, including some well over 100 points. Like, did you click that link to Thursday's women's score up there?

1319

Yeah. Six individual players in that game each scored more than the entire Guam team. And Guam actually seems to be one of the better teams in both tournaments.

Whatever, though. UNDER THE LEGS. You win in our hearts, Guam.
