Dartmouth’s at Harvard for a hockey game Friday night. Game time was 7 p.m., but ... not so much, because the Harvard Zamboni pooped out right on the ice. The Dartmouth Hockey Twitter account is delivering a delightfully trollish account of the affair:
Harvard Zamboni breaks down, players attempt to push it off ice
That’s not how that’s supposed to work.

Having the Zamboni breakdown and drop snow in the area of the net we have to defend twice? Bold strategy, Harvard. pic.twitter.com/0CvvCO5WaI
— Dartmouth Hockey (@Dartmouth_MIH) February 7, 2014 Last year's game was postponed due to snow. Could we have a similar fate this year?! pic.twitter.com/wP3FQrS6hg
— Dartmouth Hockey (@Dartmouth_MIH) February 8, 2014 And yes, the best Harvard could do was have players come out to try to push the giant hunk of metal off the ice:
Harvard players now out to push the Zamboni off the ice. Can't even make this stuff up. pic.twitter.com/vnS5dw93EF
— Dartmouth Hockey (@Dartmouth_MIH) February 8, 2014 We’ll update if this reaches an interesting conclusion. In the meantime, here’s another crazy moment in Zamboni history.
Update:
@seth_rosenthal Harvard up 1-0 after 1. Game began at 9. zamboni fixed at 8:45, quick lap to finish ice, 5 min warmup, anthem, game...
