Oh, this poor, poor child. Ryan Callahan was beloved to many little Rangers fans, and you can’t expect a youngster to fathom why the Rangers would just deal their captain at the deadline like that. It’s sadly reminiscent of this adorable youngster finding out about Jeremy Lin’s departure a couple summers ago:

...although to be fair, that’s pretty much how I acted when I heard the Lin news. This Rangers deal is much more understandable to us adults, but if Callahan wants to Skype with the little kid and explain things, I’m sure it would be appreciated.
Don’t let your children grow up to be New York sports fans. It’s too harsh. That cookie looks good, though!
