Plenty of MLB teams have dog-themed days at the ballpark. Barks at the Park, if you will. People and players bring their good dogs and everyone has a good time because it’s impossible to have a bad time with good dogs. It makes for some great photos, too, but nothing quite as great as this shot of a Great Dane from the Astros’ Dog Day Parade on Sunday:
Astros dog is fully ready to play baseball
So many dogs at the parks.

This dog could probably play. #dogdayatthepark @astros pic.twitter.com/cBF20PLga2
— Julia Morales (@JuliaMoralesCSN) April 27, 2014 The GREATEST Dane, I think. This dog has a dog Astros hat. This dog has a dog jersey. This dog has dog pants with a dog belt and ... are those dog stirrups? Is that dog pine tar on the jowls? Also, is it just a weird angle or does this dog have a long, forked tongue? Or perhaps a doll arm hanging out of its mouth? Doesn’t matter. Get this dog a glove or a bat and this dog will be 100% ready to compete.
Or maybe like this?
Not sure how dogs prefer to hold their gloves. Either way: DONE. Doesn’t even need cleats. Dog’s got claws, y’all. Congratulations, Astros dog (Astro himself?), you are as equipped to play competitive baseball as most of the actual Houston roster. They are bad.
UPDATE: More Astros Dogs, including this one that ate people food:
UPDATE TO AN UPDATE: There are also Braves dogs:
