This has always been a fear of mine -- to the point that I’ve made a compulsion of getting gas before the tank is empty -- but I also long assumed gas gauges were made to exaggerate gas depletion to make sure this didn’t happen. After helping roll an old girlfriend’s car off a busy street and crashing my own car into a dumpster while rushing to get gas for a second person in college, I know that’s not true. Don’t let your gas tank reach empty, no matter what car you drive. But especially not a Ferrari, because that looks extra silly.
Carlos Boozer will never have this problem because he’s 6’9 and can’t even fit in his Italian sportscar of choice:
A hybrid SUV for each of you.
