I remain worried that a trend of baseball players sending obnoxious fans home with sarcastic souvenirs might encourage heckling, but I guess doing something like this must be pretty satisfying:
Dallas Keuchel thanks heckler with inscribed baseball
“<3”

— Nick Wong (@nickw888) July 24, 2014 Right? On one hand, you don’t want to reward heckling. On the other, the right to convey your message via projectile pretty much guarantees you the last word. And “guess what, asshole, you just paid money to watch me” is a surefire last word.
Also, signing it with “<3 #60” instead of an actual autograph is a pretty excellent send-guy-message-but-do-not-produce-object-of-actual-value-because-no-one-will-believe-this-story-even-after-it-went-on-the-internet move.
