It’s tough to be a catcher. Taking a foul ball to the crotchal region isn’t that uncommon. Francisco Cervelli got one just last week. His teammate Brian McCann got it worse on Wednesday night against the Red Sox:

Like 100 percent of the baseball vs. 100 percent of his crotch.
Unless McCann’s penis is somewhere unusual like right under his bellybutton, there appears to be near-maximal baseball : genital interface. Every aspect of genital surface area was momentarily and violently compressed by projectile spheroid.
And this is why baseball should ban bats.
