You know the signal Aaron Rodgers does sometimes where it looks like he’s smoking? We saw it again over the weekend and wondered if perhaps it was a tribute to the classic Smokin’ Jay Cutler Tumblr. IT IS. Via The Big Lead:

Rodgers: That was just a tribute to Jay Cutler, because there’s that ‘Smoking Jay’ web site. So I was just doing a tribute to him ...
Wilde: I think you’re making that up.
Rodgers: ... I don’t remember.
Wilde: You’ve done it a lot of times, though. There’s people that use it as their Twitter avatar.
Rodgers: It’s a dummy signal. That’s the whole thing. You know, like, smoking dope - you’re a dummy if you smoke dope.
Outstanding, if maybe not totally true. For one, it might not be a dummy signal. Sure doesn’t look like one. For two, he might have come across the Jay Cutler thing only after people mentioned it to him.
I don’t care. I choose to believe Aaron Rodgers bases his signals on Internet memes.
