Marin Cilic upsets Roger Federer to reach U.S. Open Final

Right after Kei Nishikori shocked the tennis world by upsetting Novak Djokovic to reach the U.S. Open final, Marin Cilic one-upped him with a straight-sets victory over Roger Federer:

Federer, who struggled before battling back to beat Gael Monfils in the quarterfinals, barely put up a fight against the Croatian, who will now face Nishikori in an Open final unlike anything we’ve seen in almost a decade:

With Rafael Nadal absent, a Federer-Djokovic final seemed a foregone conclusion, but we’ll be seeing something totally new Monday night in Flushing.
