Mo Williams dropped 52 points in the Minnesota Timberwolves' win over the Indiana Pacers Tuesday night. I'll understand if you don't believe in the "hot hand," but like ... look at this:
Mo Williams surpasses Corey Brewer atop the hilarious Wolves record books

My parakeet is a huge Mo Williams fan.
Now, Mo Williams has always been a shooter. It’s not totally out of the question for him to have scored over 50 points ... like six or seven years ago. He’s broken 40 twice in his career, both times during the 2008-09 season.
In January 2015, Mo Williams is a 32-year-old, oft-injured journeyman whose biggest moments in recent memory are getting a movie pitch from J.J. Abrams (who mistook him for children's book writer Mo Willems) and being subject of a probably apocryphal story about LeBron James referring to him as "Panthro." He'd been averaging around 11 points a game.
This was unlikely. Here’s a solid representation of how unlikely this was:
Deadass forgot Mo Williams was still in the league

— Brad Burn (@BBurn3) January 14, 2015 I didn't even know Mo Williams was still in the league.. I can't believe he scored 52 points

— Morgan Rosenberg (@mjrprov1) January 14, 2015 There are a lot more.
We haven’t even mentioned the best part of all of this: Mo Williams is the first NBA player since April 2014 to drop more than 50 points. That was also a Minnesota player, who tied Kevin Love’s franchise high of 51.
The answer to “who was that?” for all of the above? COREY BREWER!
Brad Rempel, USA TODAY Sports
Yeah, Mo Williams broke career 10-points-per-game scorer Corey Brewer's Wolves record on Tuesday. The Wolves have only existed for 25 years, but this is a franchise that has employed Kevin Garnett, Isaiah Rider, Tony Campbell, Tom Gugliotta, Stephon Marbury, Ricky Davis, Al Jefferson -- plenty of guys who have or could have dropped 50 at one point or another -- yet Mo Williams and Corey Brewer sit atop the record book. (And Love, but he's not funny.)
The right move now is for the Wolves to fold. We need Mo Williams and Corey Brewer atop the record books forever. Unless Robbie Hummel wants to drop 53. That would be fine.
