New 49ers coach grunts and mumbles at tough interview questions

Recently promoted 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula doesn’t come off very well here -- he gives short, dismissive, and sometimes guttural answers. In his defense, though, what did the CSN Bay Area interviewer expect?
Tomsula was hired on Wednesday. This interview went up Friday. Tomsula is clearly unwilling to answer a question about who he’s looking at for coordinator positions, and yet the interviewer keeps pressing with follow-up questions that are essentially diluted versions of the original “name names” prompt.
Then he starts needling Tomsula about his relationship with Jim Harbaugh and the rumors of undermining that caused problems throughout 2014. Later on, Tomsula actually tries to give some answers in complete sentences, but only after a good 2 minutes of sheer discomfort.
Tomsula definitely could have fielded these questions more gracefully, but damn, if I got a brand new job and immediately got asked about: 1. The details of my first assignment on the job, which is a competitive and necessarily secretive assignment and 2. The gossip about all the bad stuff that went down at my previous job ... I might do a lot of grunting myself.
But yeah, Tomsula’s gonna hear some dumb questions and questions he can’t fully answer. Part of the job is dealing with that stuff without looking bad, so some public speaking improvement is in order.
