Dick Vitale makes NSFW Twitter error, then claims he got hacked

Dick Vitale posted this on Twitter:

That account name has a bad word in it, and surely isn’t the one he meant to use! The Instagram post linked uses a different account name, which is the Twitter handle of a restaurant he meant to use, but alas, goes to a similarly NSFW Instagram account.

It’s clear what happened here. A typo or a simple misclick on Twitter’s auto-suggestion feature can bring up the wrong account name, and handles that aren’t the same on Twitter as they are on Instagram can be confusing and lead to mistakes. Everybody makes these errors sometimes. It’s fine, and it definitely doesn’t warrant this response:

You didn’t get hacked, Mr. V. Hackers don’t post normal, sweet stuff on your account with slightly profane typos. You made a mistake. It’s okay! No need to scream falsities at us.

The lessons here: 1. Auto-fill can be your enemy. 2. Twitter handles don’t always match Instagram handles. 3. You probably didn’t get hacked.
