— MJB (@HawaiianHusker) March 28, 2015 That’s ... that’s not usually how rally caps work, but I like it. Maybe Nebraska knows some special 0-0 corollary to the rally cap rule that we didn’t know about. I count somewhere around 20 hats, which is a lot of hats!
(You also have to put the sweatiest cap on top. That’s another sub-rule.)
They chose the player with the most hits at that point -- DH Ben Miller -- which seems wise. He’s the DH (designated hatter), so he wouldn’t usually get to wear a cap, but we still think the Huskers could have done better:
