The secret to winning the Masters is to hit the ball right in the hole

Every year, the best golfers on Earth gather at Augusta to play the Masters. None of them, for whatever reason, play the course by just hitting the ball straight into each of the holes. They should. Here’s the right way to play the Masters:

Hole 1: Tea Olive

1

If you want to beat the dogleg and avoid the bunker on No. 1, you’re best off just hitting the ball right in the hole.

Hole 2: Pink Dogwood

2

The downhill second hole is big for birdies, but you know what’s better than a birdie? A hole-in-one!

Hole 3: Flowering Peach

3

This hole’s signature tree has beautiful pink, white, and red flowers. Hit the ball right in the goddamn hole.

Hole 4: Flowering Crab Apple

4

The pair of bunkers in front of the green could present a problem, but not if you hit the ball over them and into the hole.

Hole 5: Magnolia

5

Be careful not to overdrive this one and send the ball into the trees! You’re better off aiming right for the hole.

Hole 6: Juniper

6

Get caught putting on No. 6 and you could be in for a long day. Put the golf ball directly in the hole and you’re in good shape.

Hole 7: Pampas

7

Stick to the strategy. It got you this far! Ball in hole.

Hole 8: Yellow Jasmine

8

Try to cover this in two and you could end up in the bunker, so cover it in one.

Hole 9: Carolina Cherry

9

It’s hard to see the hole through all those cherry trees, but golf balls don’t have eyes, so that’s not a problem.

Hole 10: Camellia

10

The Camellia tree grows best in slightly acidic soil. Put the ball in the hole.

Hole 11: White Dogwood

11

A pond is technically a hole, but that’s not the hole you’re going for. Go for the golf hole.

Hole 12: Golden Bell

12

The shortest hole at Augusta is also famously windy, so just hit the ball so that the wind carries it into the hole.

Hole 13: Azalea

13

Ball, hole.

Hole 14: Chinese Fir

14

This hole has no bunkers, but you don’t care about that, because your strategy is to avoid bunkers and hit the ball straight into the fucking hole.

Hole 15: Firethorn

15

If you haven’t already guessed the correct way to play this hole, you must not be much of a golfer.

Hole 16: Redbud

16

Tiger Woods famously birdied this hole in dramatic fashion in 2005. Why didn’t he just hit the ball right into the hole?

Hole 17: Nandina

17

In Japan, the Nandina is considered a symbol of good fortune. Hit the ball in the hole.

Hole 18: Holly

18

This is one of the toughest finishing holes in golf. Any drive that drifts too far right will end up in the trees. So just finish strong by curving your shot all the way around the trees and into the hole.

Good job, you won the Masters at 54 under par. That was simple!
