Here’s a fun selection from a Watchdog.org report on New Jersey governor Chris Christie’s use of his state allowance:
Chris Christie spent $82,594 on concessions at Jets and Giants games

— Michael Barbaro (@mikiebarb) May 11, 2015 Yes, Christie blew $82,000 of state money over two years on top of the free luxury box seats he gets at Jets games, Giants games, and other events. Now, to be complete, we should note that the company that does concessions at MetLife also does retail services, so that isn’t necessarily ALL food. It might be part food and part foam fingers (which may be food as well, actually).
But let’s just say, for fun, that WAS all food at the 58 events Christie attended. That’s more than $1,400 per event. Since we know Christie is buds with Papa John, let’s assume for this exercise that he’s brand-loyal and buys exclusively Papa John’s pizzas for himself and his guests. Pies run $10 a piece, so that’s ... over 140 pizzas per Christie tab per visit. That is a lot.
