Chicago Fire goalie reveals himself to be an actual Jedi on May the 4th

I appreciate the significance of the date, but I think Chicago’s Sean Johnson, a goalkeeper, didn’t have to wait this long to reveal his Jedi powers. They really could have helped him on the field early in his career:

How did he previously resist the temptation to just do that when a ball was going to get by him? Was he afraid of scientists capturing him to study his powers or something?
