Rajon Rondo is a Connect Four maven. He’s taken on challengers two at a time, he’s destroyed his coach and he’s ruthlessly steamrolled children. He’ll beat anybody, and the only record we have of him losing is a single competitor in that first link. Until now. Check out this revelation in a Dallas Morning News transcription of an interview with Dirk Nowitzki:
Rajon Rondo reportedly lost a game of Connect Four to a Mavericks teammate

On if he ever played Connect Four with Rondo:
“I did not, but I saw him get beat though. Before the game, one of his first games, one of the Mavs’ employees brought a Connect Four over and it was just sitting there. I think Charlie V played him one time real quick. I walked by, it was before the game and everyone has their routines, and I walk by and Charlie put the last one in to beat him. So it was like a melee back there. They were yelling and screaming. And I was like, ‘What’s going on here? It’s gameday. We have a game in less than an hour. That was huge for Charlie. He let Rondo hear that for the next couple of weeks for sure.”
Charlie Villanueva! The person with the key to dethroning Rondo was a friendly journeyman on the Mavericks bench. Spectacular.
Dirk, by the way, says the Mavericks didn’t vote to deny Rondo a playoff share, probably because they knew Rondo had a good reason to be surly throughout the end of the season. He’d been bested. He had nothing left.
