The U.S. Open Google Doodle is currently engaged in the longest tennis point of all time

Happy U.S. Open Day! We bring you live to Monday’s Google Doodle, where lowercase g keeps attacking the net but simply cannot produce a winner off lowercase o’s retaliatory lobs. I’ve been staring at this GIF for 2 hours now, and have seen this rally go on for thousands of shots. This is easily the longest point in tennis history, and neither competitor is showing signs of relenting. I swear there are slight changes, though -- that the g is starting to find its angles and might finally hit a winner at some point soon. I can’t remember what I was supposed to do today, but I’ve noticed that the g is a lefty and the e cameraman is wearing glasses. I’ve also forgotten my name. The o’s footwork is not great and I think it should be more aggressive. Will it attack the net at some point? Stay tuned!
