Here is a tweet with a video and some audio:
The Islanders commissioned one of the most hated organizations in New York to make them a horrible goal horn

Introducing the new @nyislanders goal horn that we worked on with the MTA. pic.twitter.com/PcAwbuIAVc

@barclayscenter @NYIslanders Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?
— Brooklyn (@Brookie425) September 29, 2015 @barclayscenter Stupid. Thanks for ruining it. @NYIslanders
— Michael Schuerlein (@islesblogger) September 29, 2015 @barclayscenter @NYIslanders thats awful
— Curtis Pirson (@CurtisP11) September 29, 2015 @barclayscenter @NYIslanders SUCKS ASS!! BRING BACK THE FOG HORN YOU JERKS!!
— Andy Cohn (@andycohn) September 29, 2015 As @barclayscenter notes above, New York’s Mass Transit Authority helped the Islanders create that horrid noise. Basically, it’s a subway horn. This is a curious choice, because no one likes the MTA and no one likes the sound of a subway horn, whereas a lot of people liked the Islanders’ old foghorn, both old and recent:
The Islanders seem to be following the Nets’ footsteps in hyper focus-grouping the life out of their surroundings in pursuit of an #authentic #Brooklyn #brand, with equally grating results.
