Blizzard season and basketball season coincide, so it seems every year we see one college athletic Twitter account posting updates from a snowed-in team bus. It can get genuinely dicey, like it did for the Niagara basketball team stranded for 24 hours, and that’s not even accounting for the people stuck in regular vehicles without extra nourishment, toilets, and medical personnel on board.
The Duquesne men’s basketball team got stuck in the blizzard and it only took an hour for Bus Survivor to commence

That said, the Duquesne men’s basketball team spent all of Friday night stuck in a bus on the Pennsylvania Turnpike after beating George Mason. It now sounds like Duquesne will be stuck on the bus for another night. The national guard even had to stop by to drop in food, water and shovels.
At least they’re enjoying themselves as best they can:

They came prepared with extra rations and, as of Saturday morning, appear to be in adequate shape, but that didn’t stop them from playing some bus survivor promptly after their 9:15 p.m. halt:
Desperate times call for desperate measures. #DUQMBB must vote someone off the bus. Who should it be? #DUQSurvivor

... but of course, Survivor was just a ruse. The game was rigged all along:

Best of luck to the Dukes and to everyone else trapped in the storm.
Update: The brave Dukes are now taking on the storm in an effort to get pizza.
