Seven months ago, Phillip Lindsay was an undrafted running back looking for any opportunity he could find to join an NFL roster.
Phillip Lindsay is the Denver Pitbull
As the Broncos rookie running back puts up historic numbers, a new nickname has emerged.

Now, with four weeks left in the NFL season, not only has he become the star running back for his hometown team — the Denver Broncos — but he’s putting up historic numbers, too.
Lindsay’s 937 rushing yards are the most by an undrafted rookie running back since the 1970 merger. That’s hella impressive.
Sometimes, the unlikeliest hero is the guy from your own backyard. Lindsay not only grew up in the Denver area and played locally at Colorado, but he’s also is the first player from the Broncos’ middle school program to play on the team.
Naturally, Lindsay’s picked up a new nickname: The Pitbull.
In Sunday’s 24-10 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, the 24-year-old set personal records with 19 carries, 157 rushing yards, and two touchdowns.
During the Broncos’ current three-game winning streak, Lindsay has rushed for 346 yards and scored five touchdowns.
Not too shabby for a guy who couldn’t find a job just a few months back.
