Marathon and Caledonia were already eliminated from the CONCACAF Champions League heading into Wednesday’s match so the weren’t really playing for anything, but the schedule dictated that they play. That only pleased Marathon, who came away 2-1 winners to claim their title as the better of the two bad teams.
Marathon Vs. Caledonia AIA, 2012 CONCACAF Champions League: Marathon Win Match Of No Importance
Marathon defeated Caledonia 2-1 in a match between two teams that were already eliminated

Harrison Rochez put Marathon in front after 53 minutes when Glenroy Samuel saved a Cristhian Altamirano shot, but left the rebound right in front for Rochez to knock in. It wasn’t the prettiest of goals, but it was good enough for the lead.
That lead only lasted 19 minutes because that’s when Jamal Gay leveled for the visitors. A good tackle by Abdallah Phillips won Caledonia the ball and after a long run, Phillips cut the ball back for Gay, who buried his shot for the equalizer.
But with nine minutes left, Jonathan Reyes won it for Marathon. He was lucky that a deflected ball bounced to him, but showed great skill to chip the ball over Samuel to secure all three points in the match that didn’t matter.
